His name is James

but his mom calls him Jimmer.

A little tidbit you might have missed...

A guy named Elder Rogers served an LDS mission in Glen Falls NY.
He met a guy named Al Fredette and taught him the gospel. Fredette's married a Catholic girl, and when they had kids, they let them choose which religion to join. They both joined the LDS church.

Elder Rogers had a son and named him Stephen. Stephen is from Mesa, Arizona.
Stephen is now playing on BYU's basketball team (sophomore) with the son (Jimmer) of the guy he converted.

cool?

Kashton turned 13!!!

He
wanted to have a birthday party
to celebrate
his alter ego.
Many
of his friends
occasionally call him "money."
Since he loves money, (and who doesn't)
we decided to have the theme be
Kash
Moolah
Money
Dollars
Coins
and "ton"s of it.
Get it?
Kash  ton.

This
was
my
first
experience
using fondant!!!
I even made my own......if you can believe it.

The rope was made of licorice that I dunked in chocolate milk powder.
This
is
what
he
got.....
plus some brain games
and
a book.

Koby

Koby has a calling in our ward as one of the Ward Organists.

We have a neighbor who Kyson did yard work for all summer that had this organ.

It was his wife's, and she died suddenly a couple of months ago.

He didn't need it anymore and gave it to us.

She was a member of the church, but he isn't,

so I don't think he knew Koby is learning the organ.

Koby LOVES his new tux with the tails. He wants to wear it to church.

Heck, I think he even wants to wear it to bed!

Koby has avascular necrosis of the elbow.

It means lack of blood supply and death.

.

So,basically,

he has a dead bone in his elbow.

It hurts very, very much.

He hasn't been able to use his arms at swim practice for 2 months.

He just kicks for two hours every morning.

So, he shouldn't be getting faster at his 50 free and 100 free, but he is.

He took .6 seconds off his 50 free at the last meet.

.

.

Here is Koby's relay team at Region last Fri.

Koby's hat is the most gold.

They took 3rd in our Region for the 200 freestyle relay.
They even got medals!!!

PS

There are only 3 teams in our Region that are 4A. The rest are 3A

His swimming is over for the season. Too bad we didn't get to find out how fast he really is.

Hopefully, the elbow thing will get better, so he can get on with his life in sports

It hurt so badly for a few weeks that he couldn't even practice the piano.

Kashton

This is the wall before. It's pretty ugly.
Stained with sand and alkali.

After.

Kash is keeping track of Kamarie while I finish painting his name

to give him credit for the project.

Somehow came up with maroon from bright blue and red.

He is very happy to have this part of scouting over with.

It looks so much better, now.

We had to paint between all those panther toes.

Snoooooh well,

Waiting for me to take his picture...lol

Poor thing, asked her on Monday, and hasn't received an answer yet.

LIDUHLIDUH

Pronounced:
lidth - uh- lidth - uh - lidth - uh - lidth - uh - lidth - uh - lidth - uh
as fast as possible
.

.
until I acknowledge her or appease her.
.
.
.

.

Every time Kamarie says this, it melts my heart and makes me giggle with JOY!!!!
It is usually accompanied with her snuggling up on my lap and lifting up my shirt to nurse.

.

.

She learned how to say it a few weeks ago
when I taught her that what she wanted was called "mommies milk"

.

.

I have been enjoying her saying it ever since,

and it is distinguishable from anything else that she wants.
.
.

.

.

I just now figured out what she's saying.

.

I was putting milk on her cereal and asked her if she wanted milk.
Then she repeated milk to me and this is how it sounded:

.

"LIDTHUHLIDTHUHLIDTHUHL"
.

.

.

.

It's the "il" in "milk", but just mixed up.

And the "dth" is the 'm' sound she is trying to make. LOL LOL LOL

I lOVE IT!!!

Kauri is 7

She measured herself up to the line on the wall
where Kort measured when he was 7
and she is as tall as that line,
so she excitedly informed me today that she is 7!
and that her birthday should be on
July 1 since that is the day that
Kort was measured when he was 7.

WHAT THE ?!

I just posted this entire blog post from my Nintendo DSi XL!!!
.
Is that insane, or WHAT?!

.
What do you think, Jana?

Movie review

Beezus and Ramona
.
I wasn't sure about getting this one since it is about girls that I read about when I was 10.
I wasn't sure my boys would sit through it.
.
.
Several parts of this show left one person giggling throughout.
One part of this show left one person sobbing out loud.
One part of this show left one of mine comparing himself to the oldest character.
while laughing in his sleeve at the one who was sobbing out loud.
.
.
Should I let you guess which person did which?
I think I will.
Let's hear your guesses.
Who am I describing above?
1.
2.
3. .
I thought the movie was pretty decent, and I would probably watch it again, (which I don't usually do.)

Parmagranites

Dinner was fettucine noodles with
.
a whiteish, buttery, parmesan cheesy, creamy sauce with bits of brocoli.
.
Then Kauri informed us that she
.
does not like Parmagranite sauce.
.
This happened a few days after having pomagranite jelly on homemade Rhodes rolls.
lol

Kauri couldn't get to sleep last night

because of the snow.
.
'Why? because you are too excited?"
.
.
"no, because it's too LOUD!"
.
.
.
lol

Ooopsie

hey, mom, does this look about right if Rhodes says to let them "double" in size?

Kamarie's funnies

Kamarie (16 months) won't acutally watch tv, yet.

She is not interested in it. But...

tonight we watched Toy Story 3,

and she was actually giggling at the toys when they were playing together.

.

.

.

When it got dark and scary, there were like 3 times

when we enjoyed her YELLING at the tv in her dismay.
"AAAaaahhhh"

and,

.

Who knew you could cry at a dumb cartoon?

.

I saw Santa...

Kauri refused to go see the "real Santa" tonight at the credit union.
She said "He is NOT the real Santa, he is just a "helper" so I'm not going."
I kept telling her he was, but she wouldn't believe me.
"'Cause Santa has a sleigh and reindeer, not a CAR!"
We went and saw him anyway, I showed her the car that says
.
THESLED
.
on the license plate, but she is a firm believer that he was just a helper.

Koby, oh, Koby....

.
.
He should really be on here as much as Kauri, but never quite makes it.
So,
he made it finally.
The other day, Koby was asking where to find some clean socks.
I told him the dryer was full of them, and he said,
"But there are only left socks in there."
.
What?
.
.
.
That's right.
.
There is such a thing as a left sock.
.
.
You know, the ones that you put on your left foot and they seem to stretch to fit the foot and never seem to fit correctly on the right foot again?
.
.
Betcha didn't know that one.

Kauri's Kitty Kat

Every week after the block,
all of the children line up at the bishop's door
to get a candy for being reverent.
(Which just happens to be the noisiest place in the
building
when they do, funny how irony works, isn't it.)
.
.
.
Good for me, cause my kids like to share with me,
and I have a lot of kids in the primary.
Today, Kauri excitedly offered me half of hers:
.
.
"Mom, do you want some of my Kitty Kat?"
.
.
lol

Kortie!

Yeah, I know.

He is NOT old enough for this.

Kamarie and Aaron

Kort's special baptism dinner with mom and dad.

He got a salad. Yummy. Too spicy for him , though.

Did I tell you that we found nearly $10,000 lying in the road one morning.

It had fallen off someone's car.

The manager of Durangos' car.

We got it back to him, he promised us a free dinner, then lost our contact information.

I called him 3 months ago to cure my curious mind to see how much money it really was,

and he remembered the day as if it was yesterday.

He gave each of the "finders" a $50 gift card.

Our family got $250.

Yum.

How do I say this?

Kauri and I were discussing cleaning (herself)
up in the bathroom, or the lack of it.
I told her that if she needed my help to wipe,
she could just call me from the bathroom
and I would come help her.
(I meant that she could call TO me.)
But the response I got was:
"But there are no phones in the bathrooms at the school."

Monday, October 25, 2010

You woke me up...

Hubby woke up Kauri for school: "That was the weirdest dream I ever had.."
Hubby: "What was your dream?"
Kauri: "I was dreaming that mom went to the dentist."
Hubby: "What happened at the dentist?"
Kauri: "I don't KNOW, you woke me UP." (shrugging her shoulders with her hands up)

There are a few people in this world that enjoy movies WAYYY too much!

my hubby is one of them.
The
dumber the humor, the better he likes it.
.
A few people we know can make the worst of movies
seem like we're watching the funniest movie in the world.
Like my hubbies oldest brother.
He
laughs so hard out loud at EVERYTHING that it makes the movie fun to watch.
My hubby,
unfortunately,
does the same thing, but not much of "out loud," so
unless you are watching him, you can't really tell how much
he is enjoying a stupid show.
.
.
Tonight, we picked a free pay-per-view to watch despite it's low rating of 1 1/2 stars.
It was cute. Way worth more than the low rating. Especially for a few in my house that are dog lovers, music lovers, or those maneuvering high school cliques.
But, it was WAY not worth the
"tears of joy" that were streaming down my hubbies face.
It was funny at the end, but come on, hun!
We replayed the funny part to see if it was
more funny than we had thought,
and he cried his "tears of joy" again. Harder this time.
You watch Marrmaduke and tell me if you laugh so hard you cry.
I didn't.
He did.

Koby

.
.
.
is 14.
.
is taller than me.
.
is taller than Kyson.
.
played the tri-toms in the parade on Saturday.
.
just got a new calling in our ward yesterday.
.
will be sustained next week.
.
is following in his great grandfather's footsteps
.
since his g-gpa Lenzi got this calling when he was 13.
.
I am so proud of him!

We woke up this morning to thunder, rain, and

Oct-toe-ver.

I tried to convince her that it wasn't Octover, but she didn't believe me.

But, when I picked up Kauri from Kindergarten,

Kauri had changed her mind and it was now

Oct-toe-BURR.

Her teacher said so.

.

.

Kort has no idea he made my blog:

.

the kids were so excited to see a double rainbow.

.

"Hurry, mom, come and see it before it disappears."

.

Kauri: After we get out of school, we should go follow it and get all the money!

.

Kort: Kauri, there's no such thing as gold.

.

Kauri: Yes there is, they show it on tv.

.

Kort: The tv lies.

Wrong tube...

Don't read this if you are uber-sensitive to biological functions.
.
.
Kauri drank something and declared that it had gone down the wrong tube.
.
I asked her how she knew, and she proceeded to give me biology lesson:
.
"You have a tube here, (pointing to her throat)
and you have a tube here, (pointing to the back of her neck.)
.
.
You have privates: one in the front (pointing) and one in the back (pointing).
The drinks go down the front tube and comes out as pee,
and the food goes down the back tube and comes out as poop."
.
So,
.
now you know.
.
.
and
aren't you glad you tuned in today?

Whose baby is it?

Kinzie was trying to take Kamarie away from me after I had just picked her up.
.
I said, "She's my baby! I get to hold her!"
.
.
Kinzie said, "WE want to hold her, too."
.
.
I said, "But you didn't give BIRTH to her."
.
.
Kinzie said, "You didn't let us."
.
.
lol
She's so glad to get a spot on my blog, again.

Kauri started my day...

Picture day at school, and I needed to get the kids dressed and do their hair.
So when I got up and came out of my room I yelled, "Where's Kauri?"
.
I expected to hear someone say that she was in the bathroom, but that's not what happened.
.
.

From clear across the house I hear,
.
"HAAAAPPY BIRTHDAAAAY, MOM!"

luv it

Kauri wants to try "Frog's Nose"

School got out early today, so if Kauri wants lunch
(which she loves to eat school lunch, it's better than going to McD's),
we will have to come back in 30 minutes.
.
I read the school calendar to see what was being served to see if it was worth coming back for: Teriyaki chicken and rice.
We had that last night, so we've still got some in the fridge.
I told Kauri that, and she said she wanted to come back and get some anyway.
The school secretary, who had been Kauri's nursery teacher,
joked that I should have told her it was something gross
so she wouldn't want to come back.
.
So, I told Kauri that today's lunch was "Frog's Nose".
She said: "I want to try it."
lol
.
We went back and got lunch, and while she was eating it, she found a piece that was extra cooked (burnt) on the edge.
She put it to the side and explained to me that she didn't want to eat it, because it might be a leg...
.
.
a frog leg.
LOL
The whole time she thought she was eating a frog's nose!!!!!!
.
.
LOL

Kyson had a funny...

He's trying to coach me on all the ways I could possibly
get in to the football games for free to see him
cheer and tumble:
.
.
"You could get there really early, and just hang out and stuff."
Then he thought for a moment and added:
.
.
"You might have to hide."
lol
he's so happy to finally have made my blog.

Kauri's Double Feature again

Task card assignment: Lace
I gave her a shoe to lace up and showed her how to do it.
As she is lacing it up, she exclaimed: "Ooh, it's like knitting!"
.
.
.
Task card assignment: Can bounce a ball
She got a small hard ball from Kamarie's toys, walked into the kitchen where there is linoleum, and dropped the ball on the ground and watched as it bounced away.
"See? I bounced a ball!"
LOL

Kauri's Double Feature for Today

"Mom, today is September.
The last month was Aug... Aug... Augtember...or whatever it was called."
.
.
.
Me: "Your dvd player's battery is dead, you need to plug it in."
Kauri: "Does the wall have a lot of batteries?"
.

Kauri's Funnies some more

Kashton was being a helplful big brother and was finding Kauri a game to play on the computer...
.
As he was sorting through the games to choose from,
he verbalized the reasons why he was not choosing this game or that one:
.
"You're not a BABY.....
.
or
.
a TODDLER..."
Kauri piped up to guess the answer to the rest of the sentence:
.
"I'm a TATTLE-TALER!"
.
lol
of course.

Kauri's Funnies (I hope they never end!)

It's finally Kauri's turn to bring home Kindergarten "task cards."
She was working on one tonight with her dad.
.
.
The card said she needed to do "two-step directions."
So...
she counted
"One, two."
.
.
as she
walked away
from her Dad.
.
.
Then she counted
"One, two."
as she came back to him
.
with her arms stretched out
.
like: "see? it was easy!"
.
.
.
It's as much fun to see Dad's reaction to this as it is to witness these events...
.
I am still laughing my guts out.
LOL

Kauri's Funnies

The gray-haired crossing guard
told us to wait
while he entered the street with his stop sign
to make sure there was no traffic.
.
.
When he was ready for us to come, he said, "Okay, mom."
.
.
As we got to the other side of the street, Kauri asked me confusedly,
.
.
"Are you REALLY his MOM?"
.
.
lol.love it!

Kort's funnies:

The walk home on the first day of school was hot!
The second day of school was not going to be as hot for one certain 2nd grader.
.
.
.
I asked him what was so heavy in his backpack.
.
.
He told me it was a water bottle to drink on the way home.
.
.
.
I pulled a 2-liter root beer bottle full of water out of his backpack.
.
.
Silly kid.
It must have been hotter than I thought.

Kauri aka Frogger

It is the end of swim team practice.

The coaches are starting to take down the lane lines after they had all the kids get out of the pool.

Kauri's shoes are on the other side of the pool.

I told her to get out and go get her shoes.

Of course, when I said to get out to get her shoes, all she wants to do is swim over to get her shoes.

So, she swims to the lane line, grabs it, then ducks under it, then swims to the next lane line "frogger-style."

Then, the next lane line.

Then, the next lane line.

She can swim far enough to skip the next lane line and swim all the way to the edge, but when she stopped at the second to the last lane, she observed that the coaches had the lane line unhooked and were dragging it out of the pool.

Thus,

taking away her "log on the river" to grab ahold of.

so, instead of risking drowning, she reversed her actions.

Ducking under the lane lines and swimming to the previous lane lines just as the coaches unhook the lines she just had ahold of which makes them not sturdy anymore.

It was more of a frantic, kick-and-swim-for-self-preservation swim this time.

Until she got back to the side of the pool where she started.

I am a Frogger fan, and it was just so funny to picture frogger in my mind

jumping from log to log

trying to stay away from the sinking logs

as I watched Kauri acting it out!!!!!

Kort's funnies:

Obviously frustrated about something...
.
.

Kort: I'll kill myself!
.
.

Me: You don't get to kill yourself, it's against the law.
.
.

Kort: No, it's a free country.

Thursday, July 1, 2010

"Hi, Mom, this is Kyson, I just got in my first accident."

Really?

.

.

I just joined THAT statistic that I never wanted to be a part of.

.

.

You know the one: teenage driver gets into an accident

within the first 2 days of driving.

.

.

You know the other one, too,

of an unexperienced teenage driver on a motorcycle,

and not living through the learner's permit.

.

.

Yikes.

.

.

Just got him insured a week ago.

.

Just paid the money to get the scooter registered 3 days ago.

.

Just put the tags on it 10 hours ago.

.

Just let him take his first drive on the street 9 hours ago

(watching him the WHOLE time.)

.

Just let him take it out of our neighborhood 6 hours ago.

.

He has less than 2 hours of experience on it.

.

So, why was he driving it on a suicide street like Red Cliffs Dr?

?

?

?

I never would have given him permission

to ride it on that street this month.

.

Too many places for cars to pull out and not see a motorcycle.

.

Which is what happened.

.

A young male driver

(smoking) (therefore, distracted)

trying to cross the street, didn't see him on the bright YELLOW scooter.

.

Thank you-know-who that they BOTH slammed on their brakes and lessened the impact.

.

Kyson hit the car and went over the handlebars and landed on the hood of the car.

.

He came away with a scratch on his leg-can't even call it road rash, cause it's so minor.

Turkey!!!

He was very excited after we got home.

He had to call all his friends.

I've always told him that you only get to crash

on a motorcycle once, cause you're usually dead.

.

I think he realizes that he is lucky to be coming home

tonight instead of going to the hospital

in the ambulance that had arrived to take him there.

I have an announcement to make!

I am the proud new owner of.....
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
(no fair looking on the blogger reader!)
.
.
.
.
.
one licensed 'errand-runner' at my house!
.
.
.
(as long as he is nice to me)
.
.
.
Sorry, no pics.
If I knew how to fix 'My Pictures' program,
you would get some doosies.

Kauri's Funnies some more

At swimming practice, Kauri fell off her kickboard.
She can't swim yet (that she knows of.)
In an attempt to encourage her
(after her frantic flailing and kicking to reach the side of the pool,)
I told her, "Wow, you were SWIMMING!"
.
She said, "No, I wasn't, I was drowning."
LOL
.
.
and,
I had just washed clothes
and was hanging them about the house
in the usual places:
the treadmill,
the other treadmill,
the sides of chairs and such.
.
Kauri asked me if I was doing a "shirt" Easter egg hunt.
LOL some more.

Where have I ever seen THAT smile before?

...

oh, yeah,

.

NEVER!!!!!

.

.

Why the "smile"?

.

.

Cheer practice at the h.s.

.

.

followed by tumbling practice

at the rec. center

on a real gymnastics floor...

.

.

.

AND he just got a ride with

.

.

***FOUR***

.

cheer leaders!!!!!
.
.
.
(If you were him, wouldn't you be smiling, too?)
