as we rounded the corner at the grocery store, we heard a father speaking to his son.

Kort told me that they were Spanish.

I asked him how he knew that, and

he told me

"because I can speak Spanish."

"Oh," I said.

Steel Drum

Kyson has been going nuts over this thing in his percussion class called a

"steel drum".

He says it's the coolest thing EVER!!!

I thought it was just a different name of another kind of

snare drum.

The first time I ever saw one was at his school talent show when he was playing it.

It looked like a garbage can lid to me.

Sounds awesome.

Then, he took me into his band room to SHOW it to me.

What in the heck is THAT?!

It has actual notes in it that he has to play.

Now, do you see why he thinks it's so cool?

I had no idea.

Now, I want to play one.

Eagles Nest and Girlfans

Koby sworn in as an Eagle...finally!

Earned his Eagle 10 months ago while he was still 12.

But, everyone's gone in the summer.

Planned to have Court of Honor in August,

but Kamarie

came a month early and changed those plans.

Then the holidays,

and

10 months later, we swear him in and he can FINALLY

wear his Eagle award.
