oven cleaner
Magic Cleaner..
2 oz. Dawn,
4 oz. bottled Lemon Juice,
8 oz. White Vinegar,
10 oz. Water.
4 oz. bottled Lemon Juice,
8 oz. White Vinegar,
10 oz. Water.
The secret is to spray on surface, let sit overnight (or longer) and then wipe with clean, wet cloths to remove residue.
*In the oven, do NOT use heat, just spray, let sit, wipe clean.
*For showers, just spray, rinse and if you like the shine, wipe with dry towels.
*The secret on whatever you chose to clean is to let it sit, then rinse off the residue. Amazing stuff!

arm pit stains
HYDROGEN PEROXIDE MAGIC!
Ever since I started using Hydrogen Peroxide to get rid of armpit stains, to clean cookie sheets, as a miracle cleaner in my kitchen and bathroom, and to make my own “oxi clean”…I ALWAYS have at least one bottle of the stuff under my kitchen sink, under my bathroom sink, AND in the laundry room. This stuff is amazingly versatile!
But it wasn’t until recently, after doing some IN DEPTH research on the subject, that I came to realize what a “miracle substance” hydrogen peroxide really is! It’s safe, it’s readily available, it’s cheap, and best of all, it WORKS! It works for a LOT of stuff!
Hydrogen peroxide should really be called oxygen water, since it is basically the same chemical make up as water but with an extra oxygen atom (H2O2). Because of this it breaks down quickly and harmlessly into oxygen and water.
Some other interesting facts about hydrogen peroxide:
It is found in all living material.
Your white blood cells naturally produce hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to fight bacteria and infections.
Fruit and vegetables naturally produce hydrogen peroxide. This is one of the reasons why it is so healthy to eat fresh fruit and vegetables.
It is found in massive dosages in the mother’s first milk, called colostrum, and is transferred to the baby to boost their immune system.
It is found in rain water because some of the H20 in the atmosphere receives an additional oxygen atom from the ozone (O3) and this H2O2 makes plants grow faster.
Next to Apple Cider Vinegar, hydrogen peroxide ranks up there as one of the best household remedies.
Besides the obvious (cleansing wounds), did you know that it is probably the best remedy to dissolve ear wax? Brighten dingy floors? Add natural highlights to your hair? Improve your plants root systems? The list goes on and on!
There are SO many uses for this stuff that I’ve started replacing the cap on the hydrogen peroxide bottle with a sprayer because it’s easier and faster to use that way.
I have compiled a rather impressive list of uses for 3% hydrogen peroxide that I hope will have you as thrilled and bewildered as I was!
Wash vegetables and fruits with hydrogen peroxide to remove dirt and pesticides. Add 1/4 cup of H2O2 to a sink of cold water. After washing, rinse thoroughly with cool water.
In the dishwasher, add 2 oz. to your regular detergent for a sanitizing boost. Also, beef up your regular dish soap by adding roughly 2 ounces of 3% H2O2 to the bottle.
Use hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash to freshen breath. It kills the bacteria that causes halitosis. Use a 50/50 mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water.
Use baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to make a paste for brushing teeth. Helps with early stages of gingivitis as it kills bacteria. Mixed with salt and baking soda, hydrogen peroxide works as a whitening toothpaste.
Soak your toothbrush in hydrogen peroxide between uses to keep it clean and prevent the transfer of germs. This is particularly helpful when you or someone in your family has a cold or the flu.
Clean your cutting board and countertop. Let everything bubble for a few minutes, then scrub and rinse clean. (I’ve been using it for this a LOT lately!)
Wipe out your refrigerator and dishwasher. Because it’s non-toxic, it’s great for cleaning places that store food and dishes.
Clean your sponges. Soak them for 10 minutes in a 50/50 mixture of hydrogen peroxide and warm water in a shallow dish. Rinse the sponges thoroughly afterward.
Remove baked-on crud from pots and pans. Combine hydrogen peroxide with enough baking soda to make a paste, then rub onto the dirty pan and let it sit for a while. Come back later with a scrubby sponge and some warm water, and the baked-on stains will lift right off.
Whiten bathtub grout. First dry the tub thoroughly, then spray it liberally with hydrogen peroxide. Let it sit — it may bubble slightly — for a little while, then come back and scrub the grout with an old toothbrush. You may have to repeat the process a few times.
Clean the toilet bowl. Pour half a cup of hydrogen peroxide into the toilet bowl, let stand for 20 minutes, then scrub clean.
Remove stains from clothing, curtains, and tablecloths. Hydrogen peroxide can be used as a pre-treater for stains — just soak the stain for a little while in 3% hydrogen peroxide before tossing into the laundry. You can also add a cup of peroxide to a regular load of whites to boost brightness. It’s a green alternative to bleach, and works just as well.
Brighten dingy floors. Combine half a cup of hydrogen peroxide with one gallon of hot water, then go to town on your flooring. Because it’s so mild, it’s safe for any floor type, and there’s no need to rinse.
Clean kids’ toys and play areas. Hydrogen peroxide is a safe cleaner to use around kids, or anyone with respiratory problems, because it’s not a lung irritant. Spray toys, toy boxes, doorknobs, and anything else your kids touch on a regular basis.
Help out your plants. To ward off fungus, add a little hydrogen peroxide to your spray bottle the next time you’re spritzing plants.
Add natural highlights to your hair. Dilute the hydrogen peroxide so the solution is 50% peroxide and 50% water. Spray the solution on wet hair to create subtle, natural highlights.
According to alternative therapy practitioners, adding half a bottle of hydrogen peroxide to a warm bath can help detoxify the body. Some are skeptical of this claim, but a bath is always a nice way to relax and the addition of hydrogen peroxide will leave you – and the tub – squeaky clean!
Spray a solution of 1/2 cup water and 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide on leftover salad, drain, cover and refrigerate. This will prevent wilting and better preserve your salad.
Sanitize your kids’ lunch boxes/bags.
Dab hydrogen peroxide on pimples or acne to help clear skin.
Hydrogen peroxide helps to sprout seeds for new plantings. Use a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution once a day and spritz the seed every time you re-moisten. You can also use a mixture of 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 32 parts water to improve your plants’ root system.
Remove yellowing from lace curtains or tablecloths. Fill a sink with cold water and a 2 cups of 3% hydrogen peroxide. Soak for at least an hour, rinse in cold water and air dry.
Use it to remove ear wax. Use a solution of 3% with olive or almond oil. Add a couple drops of oil first then H2O2. After a few minutes, tilt head to remove solution and wax.
Helps with foot fungus. Spray a 50/50 mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry. Or try soaking your feet in a peroxide solution to help soften calluses and corns, and disinfect minor cuts.
Spray down the shower with hydrogen peroxide to kill bacteria and viruses.
Use 1 pint of 3% hydrogen peroxide to a gallon of water to clean humidifiers and steamers.
Wash shower curtains with hydrogen peroxide to remove mildew and soap scum. Place curtains in machine with a bath towel and your regular detergent. Add 1 cup full strength 3% hydrogen peroxide to the rinse cycle.
Use for towels that have become musty smelling. 1/2 cup Peroxide and 1/2 cup vinegar let stand for 15 minutes wash as normal. Gets rid of the smell.
Use hydrogen peroxide to control fungi present in aquariums. Don’t worry, it won’t hurt your fish. Use sparingly for this purpose.
De-skunking solution. Combine 1 quart 3% H2O2, 1/4 cup baking soda, 1 teaspoon Dawn dish detergent, 2 quarts warm water.

laryngospasm june 27
it's been awhile.
over a year.
this time I was eating a cherry and the juice squirted right down my throat and triggered my throat to spasm shut.
it was bad. my throat shut off sooo tight. i had coughed out all my air, so the 20 seconds it usually takes for the spasm to stop, seemed like a death sentence.
I made hubby sit by my side, cause that's what calms me down the most, knowing he will save me when I pass out.
But, I couldn't even squeak some air in. It was that tight.
It might have only been 20 or 30 seconds, but this time I could not relax out of this spasm. The relaxing is the only way for it to stop. But, I was so panicked that I could not relax.
Kash walked in and saw me choking and thought I was choking on a pit, so he walked away. I called him out on it later that my son that wants to be a doctor saw someone in need and he walked away. lol
well, maybe lol.

Sewing lessons
I was a sewing perfectionist before the term OCD existed.
I might have gotten it from my desire to get an "A" out of sewing class, and the teacher did not give out "A's" for anything less than perfect.
I am here to tell you that an OCD seamstress SHOULD NEVER teach a person that "doesn't care" to sew.
Neither one of you will end up happy.
I decided that she needed a lesson in "you'd better care, cause it matters in the end," then we ran into this issue:
"Whoa, this is NOT cut straight......there's like these triangle pieces cut into it..."

A birthday that was "SEW FUN" !
My oldest daughter made herself a skirt at age 10.
My second daughter started begging me by age 6 to make her own skirt.
To cut down on the number of "buggings" I got for the next 4 years,
I made a rule that you have to be 10 in order to use my sewing machine.
She turned 10!
and
let the "buggings" begin!
They started the day of her birthday...
Since she was born on a day that is ALWAYS on Memorial weekend,
she never gets to have her birthday party on her birthday.
This year, she desperately wanted
a "sewing" birthday party.
I thought it would be impossible to find ideas for a cake.
NOPE.
Every old lady that sews has had a sewing cake made for her...
AND, THEY ALL LOOK HARD! ! !
I
toned them
all down a ton
and came up with this:
needle and thread...
Back side:
We wanted to "sew" for the party activity, so we made these backpack hangers.
Mine . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Kauri's
I sewed my sample together in about 20 minutes.
I realized
that I was in big trouble
when the girls
got out their bags of supplies and I told them to "thread your needle."
One of the girls held up her needle and asked me,
"which end do i thread?"
Then, the threaded needle would end up with 6 inches of thread,
so we were constantly
CONSTANTLY
threading needles and tying knots.
Ten year old girls don't
understand
how to tie a knot.

Twice baked potatoes
Ingredients
3 large baking potatoes
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
1 cup sour cream
5 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese, grated (about 1 1/4 cups)
1/2 tablespoon garlic salt
Salt and pepper
3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/4 cup finely chopped green onion
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Wash the potatoes and pierce them with a fork. Rub the potatoes with the olive oil and place them on a jellyroll pan or a large cookie sheet with a rim. Bake the potatoes for 45 minutes to an hour, or until done. Remove the potatoes from the oven and cut them in half lengthwise. Set aside. Reduce the temperature of the oven to 350 degrees F.
When the potatoes are cool enough to handle, scoop out the potato flesh into a large electric mixing bowl. Add the milk, butter, sour cream, cheese, garlic salt, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix until creamy. Divide the mixture evenly and spoon it back into the potato shells. Return the potatoes to the oven for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and garnish with the bacon and green onion.
Cook Notes: I learned the hard way not to wrap the potatoes in foil before baking. It softens the shells and they will fall apart not good! Baking them unwrapped makes the shells stronger for scooping out the potato flesh later.

Stupid makes me CRAZY!!!
I sat through a 2 FREAKING HOUR game of Minor League Softball!!!!!!!!!!
They are supposed to last 1.5 hours tops.
This game got over so late, that my 9 year old daughter didn't even have time to shower in order to be to bed by 10 pm since we got home at 9:45!!!
The pitchers can't catch. The catchers can't catch. So a typical "at bat" goes something like this:
Pitcher pitches the ball. It may or may not be close to the strike zone. The catcher misses the ball and chases it to the backstop. Catcher throws ball to pitcher. Pitcher doesn't catch the ball and chases it back to the short stop. Short stop already picked up the ball, so she throws it to the pitcher. Pitcher doesn't catch the ball and chases it half way to home plate before she catches up to it and picks it up. Then she walks back to the pitcher's plate, and we start the process over.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then, no one can get anyone out, or throw enough strikes to strike someone out.
The unlimited inning is the song that never ends.
Tonight, the umpire let the team bat until they were 3 points ahead. There were finally 3 outs made after 20+ minutes. Then, he walked off the field and started going home!
The home team is getting ready for their last at bats and the umpire is not there.
I walked over and told the umpire that BOTH teams have to get their unlimited "at bats", and he surprisedly said, "they DO?"
I lost it.
I muttered out loud, " and they have YOU umpiring softball?'
Stupid makes me crazy!
Some of my friends tried to reason with me that it is his first time doing it and he is just a kid.
No KIDDING!
They are ALL kids that umpire these games.
If it's his first time doing it, then SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE THERE TO MAKE SURE HE KNOWS WHAT RULES HE HIS CALLING!
I DON"T need to be sitting at these stupid games for 2 and a half hours!!!! They are torturous enough as it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least teach the stupid kids that umpire when the game time is up and when it is time to call a freaking game over.

fudge microwave
http://magical-microwave.diply.com/perfection/make-fudge-in-the-microwave/104915
I have made this on numerous occasions and have experimented a bit with the recipe. Try mixing 2/3rds cup of brown sugar and a stick of softened salted butter. Heat in a microwave three times for 2 minutes each time. This causes the brown sugar to crystallize. Then mix the chips and sweetened condensed milk into it and heat one more time. Stir in the other ingredients and do the rest of the recipe. The brown sugar almost tastes like a crushed up Heath bar and the extra butter makes the fudge stay much softer and melts in your mouth.

Kamarieisms again
Since this post is about Kamarie,
let me share this picture from one of her favorite shows:
(and it is now my FAVORITE scene in the whole series! ! !) LOL
Kash walks in the house and Kamarie lets off a big,
"WAH HAAAAH!"
as she waves her hands around in the air in a karate chop fashion.
"I thought you were a bandit !"
Later, she came walking out of my dark bathroom.
I let out a long, loud scream. She giggled and stated,
"You are funny when you scream!"
We were discussing the dangers of tv's falling over and landing on a child's head
and breaking their heads open.
She didn't miss a beat when she said,
"then you can see my MEMORIES." LOL
AND,
this will be my last post
as public.
I have recently encountered
"unfriendlies"
stalking my blog,
and I would rather have people
who appreciate me AND my imperfections
to be the ones that are
entertained by my posts. :) :) :)
see you on the other side!

BROWNIES ! ! ! ! for my anonymous neighbor
I OWE SOMEONE BROWNIES ! ! ! !
and I don't know who!
About 2 years ago, my favorite neighbor sold her house. She was a bit older than me, but plenty spunky. She lived across the street from me, and we liked to chat once in awhile.
We do not have much in common. She liked rocks and expensive cactus landscapes (is there such a thing as "expensive" cactus?). She liked to swim naked with her husband in her backyard pool. (so says the other neighbors. LOL. (Don't be jealous, I already mentioned that they are older!) She does not belong to any churches, she does not have any small kids.
Then what is there for us to talk about? The neighbors! The annoying, "who cares who I am bugging" neighbors!
She lived next to an open 40 acre lot, so kids regularly trespassed and stirred up the dirt on their 4-wheelers, then she had to clean it out of her pool everytime she used it. Her husband died about 5 years ago, so she lived alone for awhile. She was very scared to be there by herself on account of her next door neighbors.
The woman who owns the house next to her drives a big rig, so she is out of town most of the time. She is raising her two grandsons (who were teenagers at the time) since their own parents were in jail most of the time and unfit. She has several adult kids that can't make it on their own, so many of them and their kids have come to live with her and her boyfriend, including the ones who just got out of jail.
So, my neighbor sold her house to get away from the constant whatever was going on.
The real story starts now:
The man who bought the house decided to build a work shed.
Where?
Not in the BACKYARD where a considerate person builds a workshed. He built his in the FRONT YARD! ! ! ! Straight across the street from my house.
We built in this neighborhood 22 years ago, cause I like the protection of CCNR's. I like to live around yards that are not junked up. I like to live around yards that do not have several broken down, unusable cars in the driveway. I like to have that protection that I am not living next to an eyesore.
Well, that was a long time ago. People sell and move, and people buy and move in with NO idea about CCNR's. There is no longer a "committee voted in by the neighborhood", so there is nothing legal about enforcing the CCNR's anymore.
A tin shed in the front yard is exactly what I was trying to protect myself from. If the guy owns a HALF ACRE lot with a brick wall around it, WHY DOES HE HAVE TO BUILD HIS TIN SHED IN THE FRONT YARD - IN FRONT of the brick wall- RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FRONT WINDOWS?????
CCNR infraction #1 tin shed
CCNR infraction #2 shed in front yard
I called the city as soon as I saw what he was doing and they said he had all the proper permits to be building what he was building and where he was building it, and there was nothing I could do.
Then, I found out what he was building the shed for. . . .
I about shipped my pants!
He does metal work.
Did you hear me?
HE DOES METAL WORK!
He owns a high powered metal cutter called a plasma cutter, and a metal grinder, and he makes metal art.
Just so you know, I cannot stand the sound of cutting metal and grinding metal. I't's worse than fingernails on a chalkboard! My MISOPHONIA forbids it. So, this man built a METAL shed to CUT METAL IN. . . . .do you see where I am going with this?
I have another neighbor that collects junk and metal and cuts it up and turns it in for money. He has gotten in trouble by the city several times for doing this business at his house. In a non-zoned-for junk metal business, without a business license.
Now, the guy across the street from me was going to do the same thing as a "hobby" and get away with it.
CCNR infraction #3 nuisance noises
Not if I could help it! I immediately called the code enforcement officer and told him of this man's plans. The officer told me that the machine he has does not make that much noise, and the only thing I could do about it would be to call in and complain everytime the noise was annoying and they'd send an officer.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? EVERY TIME? How annoying would that make ME to the cops? Sheesh.
CCNR infraction #4. The shed does NOT match his house.
(PS, the "house for sale" sign is for his trailer that's for sale, NOT his house, yeah, a LOT of people stop with that miscommunication as well.)
It has been a long annoying 2 years of the machine and the grinder. I can't be outside when he's using it. It literally hurts my eardrums. He even opens up both doors of the shed while he is grinding so he can let out the noise or the stink or whatever.
The cops version of "too loud" is obviously going to be different than MY version of "too loud," since they don't have to live next to it, so I never even bothered to call it in. UGH.
But, this morning! What a glorious morning! My hubby happened to have a chat with the man with the noisy machines. He told hubby that he got a letter from the city telling him that he had to move his machines ! ! ! ! !
HALLELUJAH. . . . . . . . HALLELUJAH ! ! ! !
So, I owe my neighbor some brownies. Just as soon as I find out which neighbor !
PS did I mention he makes his own wind chimes? (Metal objects hitting into metal objects at every breath of wind?) And did I mention that he places them 50 feet from anywhere at his house that he could actually hear them go off? And did I mention that he hangs them closer to MY house than his own? Somehow, the wind keeps dropping them on the ground, LOL and somehow they keep getting put back up. UGH.
I wonder if someone happened to put some "great stuff" in them how they would sound? Just a thought, in case I have any neighbors that want to do a misophoniac girl a favor ? ! ! !

This is a nice "shed" for some neighborhoods, but for a neighborhood
that has always been strictly "stucco and tile roofs"
and "out buildings have to match the house," it is an eyesore,
especially in the FRONT yard.
See what I mean?
Enough room in the BACK yard for 6 SHEDS and surrounded by a wall !
And not a single person nearby to have to listen to it ! ! ! ! !

Homemade Nacho Cheese Sauce
yield: SERVES 4-6
prep time: 5 MINUTES
cook time: 10 MINUTES
total time: 15 MINUTES
Ingredients:
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 cup whole milk
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
8oz block sharp cheddar cheese*, grated
2 tbsp flour
1 cup whole milk
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
8oz block sharp cheddar cheese*, grated
Directions:
Melt the butter in a medium size skillet over medium flame. Once the butter is melted add the flour. Whisk until it combines into a smooth blond paste and starts to bubble around the edges.
Add the milk to the skillet and continue whisking. Once the milk is incorporated, raise the heat to high and bring to a boil. Once the milk has reached a boil, quickly lower the heat and reduce to a simmer. Allow the sauce to thicken slightly.
Add the cayenne pepper and salt and whisk to combine.
Add the cheese and gently stir, allowing the cheese to melt. When the cheese is completely melted and the mixture smooth in consistency, the nacho cheese sauce is ready to serve. Enjoy immediately, as the sauce will get firm as it sits.
