K7 was born

way, way sooner than was expected.
4 weeks early.
She is healthy and everything is okay.
She doesn't have a name
or diapers
or an approved car seat
or a clean house
or a new outfit to come home in.
All of these things
I had planned on doing this week.
She weighed 6 lbs 11 oz.
19.5 inches long.
Born 8/18/09 at 2:42 am.
.
.
You can't believe how many things there are
or visiters that visit
that make it hard for mommy and daddy
to get together to finalize a name,
but we'll let you know as soon as we know.
Pictures to come on a not-so-busy-day.

I finally talked these people into taking me camping

I'll put up some freak show pictures of me soon, maybe.
This one does not do my tummy justice.
.
.
This is my kids' favorite spot when we go camping.
With five hammocks you'd think there would not be any fights...
wrong.

We camped in this spot last year, and when we parked our trailer this year,
we found a level that had fallen off of it last year
as we left .

You would think we are cooking for a family reunion or a ward,
but no,
this is just for us.

Once you turn 11, cooking is not an option.
It's just what you learn to do to become a man. (or an Eagle scout)

They just love the sausage that tastes like bacon.

We finally went somewhere Koby could use his bow that he got for Christmas.

Kashton got some of his "lashing" passed off.

Monkey boy has to climb something.

Kyson has a couple of things to say:

In case you crash on your bike and get a hole in your
hand and your knee...
.
.
.
always wear a helmet
.
.
because your head may bounce down the sidewalk as well!
.
AND...
.
.
unless you want to look like this
when
you come home from work...

STAY IN SCHOOL AND GET A DEGREE!!!!!

Yes, can you believe it?

When you hear people say to turn down or turn off your AC
when you leave town, they are not talking to people
who live in weather above 100 degrees.
We were gone for the weekend (woohoo! my first this summer)
and when we came back, our AC would not cool down our house completely.
Do you remember when we were kids and dad would always have us go check the refrigeration unit to see if the pipe was frozen or not?
I had no idea that that would happen to a unit like we have.
.
.
Well, it did.
The unit outside with the compressor had a completely frozen pipe. Not just a little bit.
The repairman went up into our attic where the main unit is and said that it was a solid sheet of ice.
(I guess the air flows through something to cool off the air before it is pushed into the house, and the thing the air flows through was a solid sheet of ice. Therefore, no air was getting through to cool our house.)
So, Mr. Repairman turned on my HEATER to thaw the ice. My house was already pushing 78 degrees. (more in my bedroom)
There was too much ice so the heater idea wasn't working, so he had to turn it all off after 20-30 minutes and just wait till the ice thawed.
So,
here I was in the middle of a St. George summer day in July,
109 degrees outside
7 + months pregnant
with my house heater running.
.
.
Once it thawed out, Mr. R could then check to see if it was low on freon,
which it wasn't too low.
The cause could be several things:
a power fluctuation,
dirty air filters,
etc.
I'm putting my money on the dirty air filters.
The last one we pulled out was so brown that it looked like a
board.
Needless to say, I will be getting my air filters changed
on my first request from now on. (They are 11 ft. high)
(I can tell when they are ready to be changed, cause the air "wheezes" through the filter when the filter is clogged.)
And I won't be turning down my AC when we leave town.
It will cost way less money to pay for AC for 2 days,
than it will to pay for a repairman.

You'll never guess in a million years

what is on and running at my house right now!!!!

Anyone care to make a guess???

This was the end of June 2007

I think we took his pictures
in May 2007
or June.
Man, he looks little in this picture.

This is Koby's favorite one

mine too.

I think it is 1820.
We hope to have his Eagle Court of Honor in August.
PS. The least awarded merit badge is the
Backpacking merit badge.
I think
it might be, because it is
a hard one
and time consuming to get.
.
.
With this silly 50-miler they went on,
it was Koby's and Kyson's last requirement
they needed to do to earn it.
.
.
By now, Koby has already earned his first
Palm
since Eagle Scout.

How'd you do that?!!!!!

How tall is this chair?

Well,

who really cares,

but

just in case this ever happens to you again,

you might want to know......

.

it is

exactly the length

of the space between

Kinzie's bed

and her door

+ 1/2 inch.

WHY do I know that?

Because,

two weeks ago, my hubby and my two oldest boys

left for 6 days to go earn some silly 50-miler patch.

On the morning of day 2 of them being gone, (and no cell service)

as we were cleaning Kinzie's room,

this chair,

which we had left leaning against her bed,

fell over

and pinned her door shut with no one in the room.

This is as far as Kinzie could reach her hand through the door.

.

.

What to do?

(At least their swim suits and some of their clothes

were in the other room, so they will have other clothes to wear.)

Kinz and Kauri will have to sleep on the couch. . . .

unless they have a genius mother like ME!!!

It took several attempts at different ideas, but

I got their door open.

Okay,

now's your chance to throw out your

own genius ideas.

How'd I get her door open?

(It did not involve going through her window

or an attic

and I'm 99.9% sure nobody will guess this.)

What would YOU do? (Besides cry, I did that, too.)

Kauri's Queries...

The other day, I beat "procrastination".
The sink was finally cleared out,
I had access to the garbage disposal,
it was finally not clogged,
AND I felt like I had waited long enough.
So,
I opened the plastic container of leftover mac n cheese
that had been sitting out for daaaaayyyysss.
Like I said, procrastination. .
.
.
The smell of DEATH emerged
.
and filled my kitchen immediately.
.
.
.
.

Kauri,
who had climbed on the counter just above the sink to watch me,
said, "Eewww, that really stinks!"
which is what I expected her and everyone else to say.
I told her to get down
and go somewhere else
so she didn't have to smell it anymore,
and then she asked.....
"How come YOU get to smell it?"
.
.
.
lol
lol
lol.
