ST. GEORGE — Police arrested a St. George man and his daughter Wednesday
after a neighbor reported seeing the man attempt to kidnap an unrelated 11-year-old girl.
Donald Kevin Alldredge, 52, 35 W. 300 South, was arrested on charges of kidnapping a child, unlawful control of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for an officer, interfering with an arrest and a warrant.
His daughter, Daphne Sue Alldredge, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Just after 11 p.m. Wednesday, St. George Police received a call of a suspicious incident at 35 W. 300 South in St. George of a man driving off with an unrelated, screaming 11-year-old child, said SGPD Public Information Officer Capt. James Van Fleet.

Van Fleet said a neighbor of Donald Alldredge was being dropped off by a friend that night. The friend’s 11-year-old girl was left in the vehicle while the neighbor and friend went inside for a brief moment.

Donald Alldredge walked across the road, sat in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and started to back the car away from the residence, Van Fleet said.

The girl began to scream, and Donald Alldredge stopped and got out of the
vehicle, Van Fleet said.

The girl immediately locked the doors and started honking the horn, at which point the girl’s mother came out and observed Donald Alldredge standing by the car, then running toward his residence, Van Fleet said.

When officers arrived, Donald Alldredge was in a vehicle with his daughter, Daphne Alldredge, Van Fleet said.

The man exited the vehicle and started to walk toward his residence, but when officers commanded him to stop, he started to run, Van Fleet said. Officers caught and placed him in custody, but he refused to cooperate, Van Fleet said.

When officers spoke with Daphne Alldredge she showed signs of being on a controlled substance and failed a field sobriety test, Van Fleet said.

Donald Alldredge was booked into Purgatory Correctional Facility on $250,103 bail, and his daughter was booked on $8,008 bail.

Poor Grandma. Both of her "babies" in jail on Christmas. I guess Daphne wasn't there. I suppose someone had enough to bail her out. I looked up the list of registereds at the PCF "Inn" and Kerry is also there (been there 2 months already.) Just 2 cell blocks down from Kevin. Holy Moly! I guess Kevin got to spend Christmas with his firstborn, anyway
